I wrote Little Town Blues in a small Hotel in Tauranga, New Zealand, roughly about five years ago. I just remember sitting there outside at the table, having a few beers, twiddling my thumbs, and felt bored out of my mind. I hadn’t been overseas at that point in my life, and I’ve always had a “big city fuse”, a real interest in exploring other countries and other cultures. I got my pad and pen out, and began to write from the title itself. I wanted it to have a Texas theme to it, where I imagined myself hitchhiking, finding a possible way to LA! And the lyrics just poured out of me.
