This is the first piece of music I wrote overseas. I wrote Departure List in London, England, at Heathrow Airport in 2011 while waiting for my flight back home to New Zealand. What inspired me to write it was the feelings of being confused, where one half of me didn’t want to leave such an exciting country, and the other half of me couldn’t wait to get in contact with certain folk back home. I still remember sitting at terminal 5 and figuring out the first few chords for it!
